President
Brian P. Willis is the Founder and CEO of Wealth Builders Enterprises, Inc, the Board Chairman for the Center for Financial Empowerment and a proud native of Saint Louis Missouri. Brian is a UNC-Charlotte graduate, and began his career with the Pepsico Corporation as a fast-track management trainee in 1989. He yearned to work in the financial field from an early age and decided to join First Union Corporation in 1993, where he quickly realized that the financial industry, specifically wealth management, was his true passion. He quickly secured his Series 7, 63, 65, insurance licenses and many additional certifications and began putting them to use at First Union as an investment advisor, eventually becoming a wealth manager for high end clients.
After 6 years at First Union, Brian accepted a career opportunity with Uvest Investment Services. Brian became an investment consultant and credit specialist at Uvest where he managed millions of dollars in corporate and private investments. Uvest also gave Brian a first hand introduction to the real estate industry as a mortgage loan specialist. He obtained his real estate and broker licenses while at Uvest, and began a very lucrative career in the real estate market while continuing to focus on wealth management. After leaving Uvest, he joined a private wealth management firm where he utilized his wealth management, credit counseling and real estate experience simultaneously.
Brian soon desired to utilize his wide range of financial experiences in an environment that merged all aspects of financial management, while helping people on a personal level. He was ardent about client care and felt the need to utilize his years of experience to create a personalized, client-focused firm that encompassed all aspects of financial management and investment. From that desire was born Wealth Builders Enterprises Inc. in 2000, a comprehensive real estate and financial services firm dedicated to “partnering” with clients to improve their financial future. Wealth Builders Enterprises is comprised of Wealth Builders Properties, a full service real estate and property management firm; Wealth Builders Consulting, a financial consulting and coaching firm; and Wealth Builders Financial, a premier wealth management and financial planning firm.
Brian has been a highly sought after credit specialist, speaker and financial consultant for over 10 years. Throughout his international travels, he has presented his expertise to diverse audiences. Having seen the effect of the 2007 credit crisis on many of his clients, he decided to begin researching and writing a hands-on credit and financial improvement program. Help! I’m Drowning in Debt Credit and Financial Improvement Program is the result of that labor. The program has garnered national attention and awards for this first-time author. Brian was asked to chair the board of the Center for Financial Empowerment in 2009. He guides this national financial management organization in their endeavors to offer financial and personal management skills and education. This busy young man was the 2008/2009 President of the Black Professional Network of the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce, leader of a Chamber fund raising team and is proud to have served two terms as president of the Urban Financial Services Coalition (UFSC). He is a founding member of the National Association of Commercial Real Estate Agents.
Brian has been quite successful in his business endeavors but feels that it is just as important to donate his time and talent to his church and community. He is a proud member of the 100 Black Men of Greater Charlotte, where he serves as President for the 2011-2013 term. He mentors several young men in The 100’s very successful Movement of Youth mentoring program. Brian led two of his young mentees to a national "Dollars and Sense" investment championship at the National 100 Black Men of America Conference in 2009. Brian is also a very active member of the men’s group at his church, as well as being a church trustee.
